Job Summary
Interview inmates on suicide watch, assess suicide risk, and triage mental health requests from medical and correctional staff. Utilize therapeutic interventions to assist identified inmates during incarceration while rendering accurate diagnoses based on initial assessments and subsequent sessions. Coordinate with personnel to provide optimized care, develop individualized treatment plans with client assistance, and monitor progress. Conduct psychosocial evaluations, mental status exams, and maintain accurate documentation. Assure prompt responses in emergencies and incorporate discharge planning techniques with outside resource referrals. Requires a Master's degree, current valid license, and strong ethical character for this part-time day shift role.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree or equivalent in Counseling, Social Work, or related field
- Current, valid license in field
- Highly esteemed in moral and ethical character
- Maintains firm boundaries in therapeutic relationships
- Ability to establish and maintain rapport with clients
- Maintains annual continuing education requirements
- Able to utilize a teamwork approach
