Job Summary
Provides quality psychotherapy and education to children, families and adults in appropriate settings; diagnoses and treats patients; maintains documentation; coordinates with hospital staff, physicians, and community resources; participates in on-call coverage and collaborates in department meetings; ensures authorization/notification of insurance plans; delivers professional presentations and supervision; and supports outpatient mental health services with a focus on pediatric and family populations. Masters-level licensed mental health practitioner with at least two years of child/adolescent outpatient experience, on-call readiness, and required BLS/Safety-Care certifications.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, counseling or related field
- Minimum 2 years experience as a licensed mental health practitioner in a child or adolescent environment
- Experience in outpatient mental health setting
- Knowledge of psychological principles, child and adolescent development, inter-relational dynamics, individual and group behavior, and behavior modification techniques
- Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and families, physicians, and other clinical professionals
- Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail while providing therapy
- Readiness to go to the hospital at odd hours for on-call services
- Demonstrates knowledge to provide age-appropriate care to children, adolescents, and families
- Independent Mental Health Practitioner state eligibility (Nebraska) – Provisional Mental Health Practitioner Required
- BLS - Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association Upon Hire Required
- Safety-Care Specialist within 60 Days Required
