Job Summary
Mental Health Practitioners work as part of an integrated treatment team to provide Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services (ARMHS) to individuals impacted by mental health symptoms, teaching skills to develop psychiatric stability, social competencies, personal and emotional adjustment, and independent living/community skills. Two tier levels exist based on qualifications: Mental Health Practitioner (Type: Part-time & Full-time, at least 0.6 FTE, location Duluth, MN, pay $23.50/hour) focusing on assessment, treatment planning, intervention implementation, referrals and documentation; and Mental Health Rehabilitation Worker (Type: Part-time & Full-time, at least 0.6 FTE, location Duluth, MN, pay $21/hour) focusing on implementing interventions, referrals, and record-keeping. Both roles require driving/insurance, with education and experience options ranging from high school diploma to advanced degrees and substantial supervised experience, practicum/internship requirements, and potential for graduate internship placement. Required Qualifications
- Has the ability to pass MVR check, maintain a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance.
- Education: has completed at least 30 or 45 quarter hours in behavioral science or related fields.
- Experience: at least 2,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of services to adults or children with mental illness, substance use disorder, or emotional disturbance; or traumatic brain injury or developmental disabilities and completes training on mental illness recovery from mental illness, mental health de-escalation techniques, co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse, and psychotropic medications and side effects.
- Holds a master's degree or higher in the behavioral sciences or related fields; OR holds a bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences or related fields with practicum/internship focused on behavioral sciences or related fields.
- Has at least 4,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of services to adults or children with mental illness, substance use disorder, or emotional disturbance; or traumatic brain injury or developmental disabilities and completes training on mental illness, recovery from mental illness, mental health de-escalation techniques, co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse, and psychotropic medications and side effects.
- Graduate Internship Placement: is a graduate student in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields and is formally assigned by an accredited college or university to an agency or facility for clinical training.
