Job Summary
Psychiatric nurse responsible for providing care to patients and families in relation to their mental and medical health. Collaborate with the patient and multidisciplinary team on psychiatric intervention plans; build relationships with patients and families to understand holistic needs; provide evidence-based individual therapy such as cognitive behavioral therapy for depression and anxiety; administer medication where required; monitor adherence to non-medical treatment plans; provide a safe and supportive environment; maintain confidentiality; attend training to acquire further knowledge; collect and record data on patient behavior and health journeys; remove potentially harmful environmental features; support patients in managing emotions using de-escalation techniques; collaborate with training of clients, patients, parents, and staff; role may include additional duties as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in mental health / behavioural health or equivalent with 5 Years post qualification experience
- Currently licensed as a mental health nurse or equivalent
