Job Summary

Conduct individual, group, family, and couple therapy sessions while providing intake assessments and crisis intervention support. Collaborate with licensed clinicians, case managers, and school contacts to deliver evidence-based mental health counseling across diverse cultural and financial backgrounds. Complete necessary documentation in the electronic health records system, including Medi-Cal billing, and participate in weekly supervision, training seminars, and team meetings. Maintain client confidentiality, monitor progress, and research community resources as needed. Drive to various clinic and school sites as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field
  • Registered intern with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, and in good standing
  • Valid and current driver's license with reliable transportation, a clean driving record and automobile insurance
  • Ability to travel between sites as needed
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative treatment team
  • Experience working in a school or clinic setting
  • Familiarity with mental health concepts, interventions, and ethical guidelines
  • Experience or training in cultural sensitivity and working with clients from a variety of diverse backgrounds
  • Strong analytical, employee relations, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent writing, business communication, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Ability to interact effectively and in a supportive manner with persons of all backgrounds
  • Proactive, self-motivated and able to work independently as well as on a team with the ability to exercise sound independent judgment
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and a professional demeanor
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive and professional working relationships
  • Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate
  • Ability to be at work regularly and on time
  • Dynamic self-starter with demonstrated ability to work independently or in a group setting
  • Can-do attitude and attention to detail, with the ability to organize
  • Ability to type a minimum of 35 WPM with minimal errors
  • Good computer skills using Microsoft Office and the ability to use Axis departmental systems
  • Ability to use office equipment (i.e., copier, fax, etc.)
  • Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
