Front Desk for a mental health practice responsible for patient access, scheduling, and verification of insurance benefits. Greet patients and callers; verify Medicaid/Medicare/commercial coverage, discuss copays/deductibles/coinsurance, arrange prior authorizations and referrals, manage provider calendars, enter demographic and insurance information into the EHR, collect payments, ensure HIPAA compliance, coordinate with billing to reduce claim denials, and support referral intake from hospitals and providers. Requires at least a high school diploma (associate's preferred) and 2+ years in healthcare front desk roles with strong insurance verification knowledge; experience in behavioral health or psychiatric settings and bilingual ability are a plus.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of front desk/patient access experience in a healthcare setting
  • Behavioral health or psychiatric experience strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of insurance verification for Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial plans
  • Familiarity with Maryland Medicaid managed care organizations and behavioral health benefit structures
  • Working knowledge of prior authorization and referral processes
  • Proficiency with EHR/practice management systems and standard office software
  • Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills
  • Discretion and professionalism handling sensitive patient information (HIPAA)
