Job Summary
Responsible for coordinating services for children (0-5), particularly those with atypical/challenging behaviors and disabilities. Duties include ensuring developmental screenings, processing special education referrals, providing coaching to staff, implementing Positive Behavior Interventions, and collaborating on Behavioral Plans. The role requires a BA/BS in a relevant field, experience with challenging behaviors, knowledge of applicable laws, and the ability to work well with families and staff. The position may require traveling to various sites.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS Degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or Mental Health
- Experience working with children that exhibit challenging behaviors
- Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices, diagnostic tests screening tools and assessments, and laws protecting individuals with disabilities
- Experience working with children with challenging behaviors and/or across disability spectrums
- Ability to observe and record information including non-verbal information
- Ability to work cooperatively with supervisors, colleagues, and all agency staff
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups both orally and in writing
- Ability to represent the agency in a professional manner
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual skills in Arabic or Bangla
