Job Summary
Develop and implement mental health programs while coordinating training activities for patients in the Middlesex County Jail. Perform and document patient evaluations, manage admissions, discharges, and housing changes, and respond to crises to provide immediate stabilization. Lead staff recruitment, hiring, and development; manage program budgets and ensure compliance with ACA and NCCHC standards. Maintain accurate clinical records and monitor adherence to site policies. Licensed Psychologist with active NJ licensure, 3+ years clinical experience, and 2+ years in correctional management required. Shift and hours vary based on coverage needs.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Psychologist (PhD in Psychology required)
- active, unrestricted professional licensure in the state of New Jersey
- active, unrestricted license in state (LMSW-C, LPC, LMSW)
- active BLS/CPR Certification (AHA preferred)
- minimum of 3 years' clinical experience in a mental health care or acute care setting
- minimum of 2 years' experience in management with correctional healthcare experience preferred
- knowledge and experience in the identification and treatment of mental health and co-occurring substance abuse disorders
- discharge planning
- principles of social work
- basic principles of individual and group behavior
- working knowledge of psychotropic medications
- ability to remain calm under pressure while assess patients' situations, underlying causes of their behavior and be able to develop interventions and treatment plans

- Strong organizational skills
- ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
- integrity, professionalism and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct
- comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements
- pass the facility's criminal background check
