Job Summary
Conduct initial evaluations and develop customized treatment plans for individuals, families, and groups through conversations, interviews, and observations. Guide clients through challenges related to substance abuse, bullying, anger management, depression, and suicide while educating them on coping strategies. Monitor client progress, modify treatment plans as needed, and coordinate care with social and medical agencies. Deliver mental health literacy curriculum to schools and community locations and present educational sessions on stress management and stigma reduction. Maintain accurate documentation, schedule appointments, and manage billing in compliance with grant and state guidelines. Work evenings and Saturdays, drive to various locations in the San Antonio area, and attend continuing education to maintain professional competence.
Required Qualifications
- LPC, LPC-Associate, LMFT, LMFT-Associate - Master's degree in clinical mental health counseling, marriage, and family therapy, or a related mental health field
- License to perform in-state; licensed by either through the National Board for Certified Counselors and/or the Association of Marital and Family Therapy Regulatory Boards
- Must be 21 years of age
- Valid driver's license
- Capacity to drive to various locations within the greater San Antonio metropolitan area
- Must hold Personal Malpractice Insurance
- Must Adhere to ethical guidelines set forth by professional organizations
- Must be able to work evenings and some Saturdays
- Must possess Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community

- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with clients, colleagues, and other professionals to coordinate care when necessary
- Must be comfortable with building personal relationships and dedicated to helping others
- Must be empathetic, compassionate, encouraging, supportive of clients
- Attends continuing education courses and workshops to maintain professional competence and stay up to date on developments in the field of counseling
