Job Summary
Conduct mental health assessments for Job Corps applicants and students to evaluate mood, behavior, and reasoning. Coordinate education components for staff and students while developing chronic care management plans and recommendations for accommodations. Provide crisis intervention for suicidal behavior, death, or serious loss, and collaborate with the Health and Wellness Director to monitor students on psychotropic medications. Record diagnoses, treatment plans, and medication details in compliance with HIPAA, and determine when Medical Separation with Reinstatement Rights is appropriate. Participate in Disability Accommodations Committee meetings and lead psycho-educational skill-building groups to promote employability.
Required Qualifications
- current, valid, unrestricted license in a mental health discipline (e.g., Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Psychologist)
- Experience providing assessment and treatment services to adolescence and young adults
- ability to work both independently and as a member of a healthcare team to provide optimal services to a population of financially disadvantaged youth, typically ranging from 16 to 24 years in age
- Strong communication, facilitation, and motivational skills
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug testing
