Job Summary
School-based Mental Health Counselor responsible for direct mental health services (intake, individual/family/group therapy, risk assessments, crisis intervention) at the designated school site, coordinating a continuum of mental health services for the district, and providing consultation to school staff. Focus on prevention, working with students and families to address stress, anger management, bullying, and self-esteem; develop and implement treatment plans; collaborate with families, community agencies, and other professionals; attend staff meetings; maintain confidentiality; and support a district-wide mental health program. Requires licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in SC or eligible by state licensure rules, a master’s degree in counseling, and at least three years of experience with students. 200-day contract; salary on the Teacher Salary Scale; to apply, upload a letter of interest and a resume.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in SC or another state, with licensure/graduate degree requirements to apply for LPC credentials
- Graduate degree in counseling (Master's) with a 48-hour program to apply for credentials
- Minimum of three years of experience working with students
