Job Summary
Mental Health Counselor provides individual therapy to San Juan College students, crisis intervention, and oversight of the college’s virtual counseling program (UWill). The role includes participating in weekly counseling staff sessions, supporting the Behavioral Intervention Team as needed, developing and delivering mental health presentations and outreach, updating counseling policies and protocols in collaboration with the counseling team, and maintaining current licensure to deliver high-quality mental health care to a diverse student population.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in a clinical mental health field such as LISW, LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC; current NM license
- At least 1 year of counseling experience directly related to the duties specified as a fully licensed, independent counselor
- Ability to provide individual therapy, crisis intervention, and participate in counseling staff activities
- Maintain licensure requirements
- Ability to develop and deliver mental health presentations/workshops
- Experience with campus mental health programs (e.g., virtual counseling program UWill) and collaboration with campus partners
- Excellent documentation and communication skills
