Job Summary
Provides assessments to determine client appropriateness for service, conducts intensive individual counseling, develops and updates treatment plans, and documents activities for billing and compliance. Collaborates with a clinical team to input treatment progress, performs case management and community linkage, and conducts educational and group counseling to support coping skills. Requires knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage responsibilities efficiently within an outpatient/inpatient behavioral health setting. Maintains documentation in accordance with agency policy and participates in interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure appropriate care for clients served.
Required Qualifications
- Currently licensed, or eligible for licensure by the Ohio Counselor and Social Work Board
- Degree in Behavioral Science or related field
- Valid Ohio Motor Vehicle License required and ability to maintain insurability
- Maintain CPR/First Aid training
- Prior counseling experience in outpatient or inpatient setting preferred, including experience working with chemically dependent people/families, experience with the 12-Step Recovery Program
