Job Summary
Mental Health Clinician based in Winnipeg, operating largely via Telehealth or other virtual means with hybrid work arrangement. Responsibilities include receiving and responding to requests for service, conducting consultation, triage and initial assessments to prepare youth and families for ongoing treatment, and establishing liaison with First Nations communities, health services, and Jordan’s Principle partners. Collaboration with psychiatrists, primary care physicians, nursing staff, and service coordinators is essential, with occasional travel to First Nations communities throughout Manitoba. The role emphasizes adolescent and family mental health, with a focus on clinical assessment, education, and system navigation. Requires a Master’s degree in a relevant health discipline, active licensure, and 4-5 years of relevant experience; prior exposure to First Nations communities and suicide risk assessments is an asset.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a relevant health discipline from an accredited institution
- Active regulatory licensure/registration in good standing
- 4-5 years’ experience with children, adolescents and families in mental health and addictions
- Experience with First Nations communities and understanding of their culture/healing practices
- Experience completing suicide risk assessments, clinical care planning, and system navigation
- Skills in clinical assessment, individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, play therapy, and systems intervention
- Ability to liaison with First Nation community resources, health services, and stakeholders
- MATC/Jordan's Principle related knowledge is a plus
- Strong collaboration with psychiatrists, primary care, nursing, and service coordinators
- Commitment to accessibility and accommodations in the workplace
- Ability to travel occasionally within Manitoba
