Job Summary
Conduct individual, group, and family psychotherapy for persons with developmental disabilities and severe mental illness. Perform assessments and diagnoses, prepare service coordination plans, and document clinical outcomes while advocating for clients with other agencies. Develop relapse prevention strategies and assess clients for safety risks, initiating involuntary hospitalizations when necessary. Participate as an integral member of a multi-disciplinary team and attend regular training to maintain licensure. This six-to-nine-month sub/temp role offers competitive monthly compensation of $6,451 to $8,287. Required Qualifications
- Current licensure as a LCSW, LMFT, or Clinical Psychologist
- Experience working with persons with developmental disabilities
- Medicare credentialing
- Enrollment in a Master's or Doctoral degree program (MSW, MFT, PhD) eligible for licensure by the Board of Behavioral Science Examiners or the Board of Psychology
- Basic computer skills in work processing and spreadsheet application
- Ability to observe, evaluate, document and communicate verbally and in writing
- Ability to accept supervision and work cooperatively as a team member with co-workers as well as with the client and community resources
- Knowledge of disabilities and the biological, psychological and social models
- Ability to utilize critical thinking skills in decision making situations, good organizational and record keeping skills, and good independent judgment
- Knowledge of psychotherapy
- Knowledge and understanding of multidisciplinary team and family dynamics
- Ability to be flexible with scheduling and prioritization of tasks
- Some travel to satellite locations
