Job Summary
Mobile Crisis Clinician provides crisis intervention and clinical assessments in-person or via telehealth, delivering psychotherapy and psychosocial rehabilitation to address psychiatric or substance use symptoms, making treatment referrals, and documenting case work while maintaining confidentiality. The role operates within a fast-paced, emotionally dynamic team environment across Cayuga, Cortland, Madison, Onondaga, and Oswego counties, with a flexible on-call schedule (weekdays and weekends) and travel to various sites including private homes, shelters, and community locations. Requires licensure in NY State, post-graduate mental health experience, de-escalation skills, trauma-informed and person-centered approaches, and participation in mandated trainings; pay is hourly with on-call shifts described, and the team emphasizes diversity, equity, and belonging.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed or permitted in New York State as one of the following: LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, Licensed Creative Arts Therapist, Licensed Behavioral Analyst, Physician (including Psychiatrist and Addictionologist/Addiction Specialist), Nurse Practitioner, Registered Nurse, Physician Assistant, Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Psychoanalyst, Occupational Therapist who meets the qualifications set forth in 42 C.F.R. 440.110(b)(2)
- Two (2) years of post-graduate mental health experience including crisis intervention support, transitional support, and care coordination
- Must demonstrate competence in de-escalation and aggression management
- Must be willing to participate in all required federal, state, county and agency training including Narcan administration, evidence-based assessments, person-centered and trauma-informed approaches
