Job Summary
Assess patients' physical, emotional, cognitive, and behavioral skills; develop safety and treatment plans with measurable goals. Implement individual and group psychotherapy models including CBT and DBT while documenting findings, interventions, and outcomes. Provide care in outpatient clinics, day hospitals, and adult inpatient mental health units; participate in multidisciplinary rounds, discharge planning, and community agency liaising. Deliver structured, evidence-based assessments and collaborate with families, caregivers, and community resources. Work Monday through Friday with possible weekend coverage as a part-time job share.
Required Qualifications
- Candidates must be registered with an approved Regulated Health Profession College (Social Work, Occupational Therapist, Psychotherapy)
- Master's degree required
- Must have extensive experience delivering structured, time limited, evidence based individual and group psychotherapy models
- Must have extensive experience developing and facilitating groups i.e CBT, DBT etc.
- Must have a good understanding of current legislation related to; Mental Health Act, Healthcare Consent Act, Substitute Decisions Act and Privacy Act
- Excellent mental health assessment skills and ability to conduct and document formal biopsychosocial assessments
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with patients, families, and community-based resources
- Must be able to work in a collaborative team model that includes the patient, family, and other care givers
- Organizational skills and the ability to work independently are necessary
- Demonstrates and role models an awareness of and commitment to personal and professional development
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis is required
- all staff have received all required doses of a COVID-19 vaccine approved by Health Canada
- The successful external applicant is required to provide the applicable criminal record check
