Job Summary

Conduct evaluations and assessments for children, adolescents, and adults using standardized psychological tests to determine eligibility for psychotherapy and psychiatric services. Develop person-centered treatment plans based on individual needs and collaborate with families to establish therapeutic goals. Deliver individual, family, and group therapy sessions while regularly monitoring electronic health records and responding to inquiries regarding clinical documentation and scheduling. Participate in clinical supervision of student interns and engage in weekly group or breakout supervisions to mentor less experienced clinicians. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, external providers, and clinic support staff to coordinate services and address caseload issues. Maintain comprehensive clinical documentation contemporaneously in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Report to assigned clinic locations across the NYC metropolitan area on a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend hours.

Required Qualifications

  • Current license and registration issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED) as Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Psychologist
  • A student, intern or resident in psychology, pursuing a course of study leading to a doctoral degree in psychology in an institution approved by NYSED
  • Current Limited Permit issued by NYSED
  • Eligibility for Limited Permit consistent with NYSED requirements
  • Master's degree in Psychology or its equivalent
  • Satisfactory proof of qualifying, continuous employment commencing on or before June 24, 2022 in a program or service operated, regulated, funded or approved by Office of Persons with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) or another human services agency
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build effective working relationships and collaborate with the clinic mental health team and staff across other disciplines, families and external providers
  • Ability to effectively communicate clinical matters appropriately to individuals at all levels (persons supported, families, external providers and other stakeholders)
  • Demonstrates the highest standards of ethics and integrity, with a commitment to objectivity and upholding the integrity of clinical service provision and ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information
  • Self-directed, detail-oriented and highly organized, with strong time management skills and the ability to effectively manage competing priorities to meet billing submission deadlines/timelines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Excel and Word, email management and electronic systems such as Electronic Health Record (EHR) software
  • Ability to learn to use computer equipment, software and/or electronic programs required to effectively carry out essential business processes
  • Ability to report on-site to assigned clinic location(s) across the NYC metropolitan area on a regular basis as required by caseload to conduct sessions and evaluations and as needed to attend supervisions or meetings
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as required by caseload, which may include some evening and/or weekend hours
  • Ability to meet essential physical demands of position, including the ability to sit for extended periods, pushing, pulling and reaching with hands and arms to retrieve and display materials or to open and close doors
  • Use hands to handle, finger or feel objects, tools or controls
  • Ability to complete room set up for sessions, which may include moving/sliding tables, chairs and other equipment around or to room and to otherwise to move around the office/clinic

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD)
  • Verbal and/or written fluency in a second language
  • Spanish highly preferred
