Job Summary

Conduct comprehensive psychosocial evaluations for inmates admitted to the Mental Health Unit, develop individualized treatment and discharge plans, and provide individual and group psychotherapy services. Create discharge plans connecting patients with community-based resources, assist with identification cards and medication assistance programs, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and correctional staff. Maintain accurate documentation, track service data, and participate in interdisciplinary meetings to support trauma-informed, recovery-focused care within the DC Department of Corrections. Work Saturday-Sunday 4pm-12pm as a part-time non-exempt clinician serving justice-involved populations.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related behavioral health field
  • Current DC license as an LPC, LICSW, LGSW, or equivalent behavioral health license
  • Minimum of three (3) years of post-graduate experience in a psychiatric social work or behavioral health setting
  • Strong knowledge of mental health diagnoses and psychotherapy techniques
  • Working knowledge of psychopharmacology and substance use treatment modalities
  • Excellent communication, crisis intervention, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a secure correctional healthcare environment
  • Commitment to serving underserved and justice-involved populations
  • Saturday-Sunday 4pm-12pm
