Job Summary
Provide patient care under Registered Nurse supervision, assisting with admissions, transfers, discharges, and activities of daily living including bathing, feeding, and laundry. Monitor patients for behavioral changes, document vital signs and sleep patterns, and report significant shifts to the RN. Conduct psychoeducational groups, manage unit supplies, answer telephones, and coordinate with environmental services and physicians. Observe and intervene in unsafe behaviors using de-escalation techniques while maintaining a clean, organized environment. Work variable shifts including evenings and nights as needed, with pay ranging from $27.83 to $37.40 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or Equivalent
- 1 Year experience working in a treatment setting with patients that have acute or chronic psychiatric and/or substance abuse disorders
- AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED
- Ability to speak, write and comprehend medical terminology in English
- Excellent verbal communication skills required
- Knowledge of the bio-psycho-social needs of psychiatric patients
- Knowledge and skills necessary to provide basic nursing care and mental health care to acute psychiatric patients
- May be asked to work evening and/or night shifts=1500-2330 or 2300-0730
- Weekend Requirements: As Needed

Desired Qualifications
- Some college course work in Psychology, Sociology, Communication, Nursing, or other health care related fields
