Job Summary
Conduct direct patient care on inpatient or outpatient mental health units, including treatment planning, milieu safety assessments, and group activity supervision. Perform safety checks, vital signs collection, and procedures such as EKGs and phlebotomy as assigned by the Registered Nurse. De-escalate anxious patients, implement restraint policies when necessary, and provide personal care to optimize patient independence. Document behavioral data, progress notes, and group activities while maintaining accurate medical records and charts. Communicate timely observations to nursing staff and assist in medical emergencies. Work evening shifts from 3pm to 11:30pm, 32 hours per week, with every-other weekend and holiday coverage.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current Basic Life Support or Heart Savor certification
- One year of relevant patient support experience
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English in a clear and concise manner
- Effective interpersonal skills to provide respectful, culturally and age appropriate communication with patients, staff, visitors and others
- Effective problem-solving abilities for routine situations
