Job Summary
Accurately obtain and record admission vital signs, height, weight, and patient belongings during admission and discharge. Monitor and document routine vital signs, intake/output, and specimen collection while assisting with basic nursing care, activities of daily living, and patient transfers. Perform patient safety checks, provide 1:1 observation for high-risk patients, and assist with de-escalation, crisis control, and restraint/seclusion procedures as assigned. Monitor the unit milieu, report environmental or clinical issues, and communicate patient status changes to the Patient Care Director or Registered Nurse. Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning meetings, co-lead therapeutic groups, and maintain unit cleanliness and order. Maintain confidentiality of patient data and ensure proper identification checks during all interactions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
- One to two years nursing assistant, er tech, mental health worker experience
- Enrolled in a Bachelor of Psychology, social work or human service-related bachelor program
- Basic Life Support
- AVADE Training with the first six months required
- Must complete a background check
- Must be vaccinated against COVID-19
- Must receive a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine
