Job Summary
Collect pertinent patient data including vital signs, intake, and output, then report abnormal findings to the Registered Professional nurse. Provide direct patient care by assisting with bathing, oral care, grooming, eating, and toileting while incorporating safe patient handling for ambulation and range of motion. Participate in care planning, nursing reports, and departmental safety inspections to maintain a clean, orderly environment. Document all progress and adhere to infection control techniques and hospital safety standards. This 36-hour day shift role supports the Pediatric Emergency Department at Albany Medical Center, a Level 1 trauma center serving the Capital Region.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/G.E.D.
- CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation Upon Hire
- BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire
- Successfully complete all applicable federal, State and institutionally mandated pre-employment screening requirements including: Relevant Background Check(s)
- Drug Screen
- PPD / Tuberculosis Test
- Reference Check
- Applicable vaccinations
- Compliance with all hospital and regulatory agency safety goals and objectives
- Adherence to limitations of unlicensed assistive care
