Job Summary
Mental Health Ambulance Care Assistant responsible for safely transporting patients with complex mental health needs, driving the ambulance and supporting patients during transport. Build trust with patients using active listening and compassionate communication; follow care plans, risk assessments and safety protocols; apply de-escalation techniques to support patients while maintaining dignity; record patient information accurately using digital or paper systems; drive and maintain company vehicles; ensure a clean, fully equipped vehicle at shift start; collaborate with healthcare professionals to uphold high standards of patient care. Role includes a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern with 12-hour shifts (11:00–23:00), £14.55 per hour, mandatory two-week training and full uniform, with benefits such as contractual sick pay after 12 months and an employee assistance programme.
