Job Summary
Conduct activity-based dementia care by leading cognitive games, walks, music sessions, and community outings to keep clients engaged and independent. Provide supportive personal care and companionship while building genuine relationships through conversation and shared experiences. Collaborate closely with the care team to tailor daily routines to each client's personality and abilities. Work full-time shifts with weekly pay, medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k) matching.
Required Qualifications
- Preferred 6 months of experience in dementia care, caregiving, education, behavioral health, recreation, or a related field (professional or family experience welcome)
- Reliable availability with a consistent weekly schedule (for example: Tuesday–Saturday or Sunday–Thursday)
- Availability to work one recurring weekend day
- Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and current auto insurance
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to pass a background check and verify eligibility to work in the U.S.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Eligibility to register with the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Health Care Worker Registry
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in memory care, senior living, or private-duty caregiving
- Training in Teepa Snow's Positive Approach to Care® (PAC)
- Experience leading activities, enrichment programs, or community engagement
- A passion for dementia care and lifelong learning
