Job Summary
Lead assigned Life Guidance programs by developing service plans and offering diversified recreational activities with sufficient supervision. Proactively involve all staff in planning daily programs including activities of daily living, while designing individual birthday celebrations and programs for residents confined to their rooms. Engage and motivate residents to ensure participation, greet new residents to include them in community activities, and assist in planning parties and seasonal decorations. Maintain records of activity participation levels and acceptance as required by state law, support census building initiatives, and assist the Life Guidance Director in enlisting volunteer services. Work various schedules and shifts as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- one to two years prior experience with an adult population developing and implementing activities and/or training
- an equivalent combination of education and experience
- a working knowledge of the methods of recreational therapy or activity programming and their application to activity and leisure needs of residents with Alzheimer's/Dementia
- Required certification(s) based on current state regulations
- Able to work various schedules and shifts as needed
