Job Summary
Lead assigned Life Guidance programs by developing service plans and offering diversified recreational activities with sufficient supervision. Proactively involve staff in planning daily programs including activities of daily living, while designing individual birthday celebrations and engaging residents in participation. Greets new residents to include them in activities and introduce them to others, and assists in planning parties, decorating the community for seasons and holidays, and building the census. Maintain records of activity participation and acceptance as required by state law, and support the Life Guidance Director in enlisting volunteer services. Work various schedules and shifts as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- one to two years prior experience with an adult population developing and implementing activities and/or training
- an equivalent combination of education and experience
- a working knowledge of the methods of recreational therapy or activity programming and their application to activity and leisure needs of residents with Alzheimer's/Dementia
- Required certification(s) based on current state regulations
- Able to work various schedules and shifts as needed
