Job Summary
Plan and lead daily programs tailored to residents living with dementia to support their cognitive, social, and emotional engagement. Adapt activities to varying levels of cognitive ability and physical function while providing hands-on caregiving support for transfers, toileting, dressing, and personal hygiene. Assist residents during mealtimes and observe behavior or mood changes to report updates to nursing staff. Maintain clean, organized, and safe activity spaces and collaborate with caregivers and nurses to meet community goals. Work Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM in Southgate Senior Living's Memory Care unit in St. George.
Required Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead groups and engage residents with varying cognitive abilities
- Willingness to assist with hands-on caregiving tasks
- Ability to lift, transfer, and support residents safely
- Creative, patient, and resident-centered mindset
- Someone who enjoys building meaningful connections with residents
- A team player who can switch between activities and caregiving as needed
- A compassionate individual who understands the unique needs of memory care
- Someone who brings energy, creativity, and empathy to their work every day
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with dementia care preferred but not required
