Memory Care Activities Assistant (Valeo Coordinator)

Job Summary
Conduct an organized program of individual and group activities to sustain residents' potential, engaging them in cultural, spiritual, physical, social, and intellectual pursuits. Prepare and distribute the monthly schedule of activities, ensuring full implementation seven days a week while accommodating special events and weekend programs. Drive the van when necessary and assist with programming in the Salus/AL department. Maintain resident records, including the Birthday List, and conduct quarterly surveys to evaluate current offerings. Communicate verbally and in writing with team members, families, and residents; participate in wellness planning by communicating observations to the Wellness Director. Effectively manage team members and volunteers while promoting community values.
Required Qualifications
- An associate degree from an accredited college or university, or proof of satisfactory completion of two years of college, with major course of study in recreation or related field
- Two years of full-time experience in the recreation field in an older adult population
- State driver license

- familiarity with other pertinent software
- Physically able to bend and reach
- Physically able to push and pull and lift up to 40-50 pounds if necessary
- Physically able to stand for extended periods of time
- Successful completion of company Dementia and specialized programming in-services
- Must be in good physical and emotional health
- free of communicable diseases
Desired Qualifications
- May be video recorded from devices installed by families in residents' apartments
- May have picture taken and image used in social media or community advertising
- May be required to work weekends and holidays as assigned
- Could be subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including HIV, AIDS, and Hepatitis B & C viruses
- Could be subject to hostile and emotionally upset Residents due to mental status
- Background, criminal, and drug tests may be required
- May be asked to submit to random drug test during employment
