Membership Sales Specialist

Job Summary
Sell memberships and related services at community events, retail partner sites, festivals, fairs, and pop-up locations by engaging consumers one-on-one using a confident, friendly, and persuasive sales approach. Explain membership benefits, pricing, and value propositions to drive immediate enrollments while serving as a brand ambassador in high-traffic public environments. Set up, operate, and break down promotional booths and displays, then meet or exceed daily, weekly, and monthly sales goals using consultative and needs-based selling techniques. Accurately document sales, leads, and customer interactions using company systems and participate in local marketing efforts through community outreach. Work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event needs, with at least one day per week in a designated AAA Branch.
Required Qualifications
- Willing to travel within state and out of state
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Property and Casualty Insurance License, valid in selling state
- 1–3 years of experience in retail, consumer, or event-based sales
- Experience in membership, subscription, wireless, or brand sales
- Strong outside and face-to-face consumer sales skills
- High-energy, outgoing personality comfortable approaching the public
- Excellent communication, presentation, and persuasion skills
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, goal-driven environments
- Strong objection-handling and closing abilities
- Ability to work independently in off-site and public settings
- Customer-focused mindset with a consultative sales approach
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work outdoors when required
- Comfort using tablets, mobile devices, or point-of-sale systems
Desired Qualifications
- Experience similar to wireless retail (e.g., T-Mobile), warehouse retail (e.g., Costco), or brand ambassador roles
- Commission-based or quota-driven sales environments
- Experience working community events, pop-up sales, or promotional activations
