Job Summary
Membership Experience Staff at the YMCA delivers an outstanding member experience by welcoming, connecting, supporting, and engaging members, guests, and staff. Responsibilities include greeting and checking in members, providing tours of the facility, answering multi-line phones with YMCA greetings, processing membership and program paperwork into current YMCA operations systems, maintaining cleanliness and supplies, and representing the organization with professional attire. The role supports the Welcome Center operations, assists with daily tasks, adheres to Emergency Operations Plan for safety, follows department standards, contributes to fundraising efforts (Annual Support and United Way campaigns), and participates in trainings and required certifications (CPR/First Aid/AED/O2/CAP, NEO, Bloodborne Pathogens, Sexual Harassment). Competencies emphasized include engagement, communication, inclusion, collaboration, and functional expertise. The position requires the ability to read and interpret documents, respond to inquiries, apply mathematical concepts, problem-solve, and meet physical demands. Excellent member experience and safe, clean facilities are a focus, with accountability upholding YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- YMCA experience in member services, program, or a related field is preferred
- Ability to interface with basic software programs and use phone systems
- Ability to perform math skills required to accurately manage money and accounting procedures for YMCA software operations
- Possess business professional communication skills
- Certification in CPR/First Aid/AED/O2/CAP required within 60 days of hire
- Complete and maintain required trainings to include: New Employee Orientation (NEO), Bloodborne Pathogens, Child Abuse Prevention (CAP), and Sexual Harassment
- Satisfactory completion of a criminal background check and Child Protective Services check
