Job Summary
Oversee all aspects of membership for a Y center, including recruitment of new members, retention of existing members, and supervision of associates. Lead the membership team that helps children, adults, families, and communities live healthier, more connected lives. Develop, plan, and implement new procedures and methods within Association guidelines to achieve strategic goals. Assist the District Executive Director, Program, and Fitness Directors in the development of member-centered programs and perform in a leadership role as assigned to the annual fundraising campaign. Represent the Y brand and mission through demeanor, actions, responsiveness, and friendly ways to enhance the member experience. This role requires at least five years of supervisory experience in a customer-centric environment with demonstrated experience in generating leads and closing sales. The position involves managing a budget of $1.5M or greater and supervising a 2,500+ membership unit. A Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
Required Qualifications

- Enthusiasm, patience, good humor, good judgment and a can-do spirit
- The ability to clearly communicate and effectively listen to children, parents/guardians, members, and other Y associates
- At least 5 years of supervisory experience in customer centric environment with demonstrated experience in generating leads and closing sales
- Previous experience managing a budget of $1.5M or greater
- All Y associates agree to abide by The Code of Conduct with Youth that sets clear expectations for associates and volunteers to ensure a safe and respectful environment for young people
- The policy strictly prohibits any form of abuse, bullying, or harassment and mandates the reporting of suspected mistreatment
- associates and volunteers must complete training on child abuse prevention and comply with legal reporting requirements to safeguard youth
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience managing a 2,500+ membership unit YMCA or equivalent (preferred)
- Bachelor's degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
