Job Summary
Conduct daily 1:1 check-ins and facilitate group engagement to build consistent relationships with high school youth. Assist leadership in developing the Membership Process, including recruitment, onboarding, attendance tracking, and retention strategies. Foster academic support for members and create welcoming spaces for Spanish-speaking newcomers. Facilitate membership circles, leadership development activities, and community-building events focused on social justice and civic engagement. Contribute to evaluation processes to track member outcomes and ensure alignment with organizational benchmarks. Represent El Puente in the community and collaborate with staff to strengthen membership culture. Work approximately 14 hours per week in-person at the Bushwick Leadership Center in Brooklyn. Fluency in Spanish is required.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree or at least 2 years of relevant college coursework
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in youth development with high school youth and young adults, community-based work, or related field
- Knowledge of college access resources and career readiness opportunities
- Fluency in Spanish required (written and verbal)
- Strong relationship-building and facilitation skills, specifically with high school-aged youth
- Familiarity with or commitment to social justice, civic engagement, and community organizing
- Strong communication, organization, and follow-through
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Part-time, in-person position based at our Bushwick Leadership Center in Brooklyn
- Expected schedule of approximately 14 hours per week
