Job Summary
Process teller transactions accurately, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, transfers, check cashing, and currency exchanges. Open, maintain, and close member accounts while ensuring full compliance with federal, state regulations, and internal policies. Identify member financial needs and recommend appropriate credit union products, educating clients on digital banking, ATM access, and retirement account options. Resolve inquiries and sensitive situations with discretion, empathy, and sound judgment. Balance cash drawers daily and report discrepancies per established procedures. This role supports operational needs and may involve occasional travel to nearby branches.
Required Qualifications
- Six months to two years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions
- High school degree or GED
- A significant level of trust and diplomacy
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to respond effectively to each member's unique situation
- Ability to communicate clearly with members and staff
- Ability to use applicable technology proficiently
- Ability to remain flexible to support operational, training, and organizational needs
- Ability to travel to nearby branches (occasional)
