Job Summary
Process member accounts, open all account types, and handle tax-advantaged accounts, wire transfers, and savings bonds while maintaining strict confidentiality and security protocols. Assist members in consumer lending, troubleshoot account and card issues, and execute notary public services as requested. Greet and support members through in-person, phone, and digital channels, organize community events, and manage document filing and scanning. Perform subsequent advances on home equity lines of credit and facilitate safe deposit box access. Complete the New Consumer Lender Learning Program within six months and maintain proficiency in SECU Check Acceptance Guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Passing score on Consumer Lending Program (CLP) exam
- Completion of the in-person New Consumer Lender Learning Program within 6 months of hire
- Current and comprehensive knowledge of credit union products and services
- Proficiency in account maintenance and opening all account types for members while following Member Identification Procedures
- Ability to open and process maintenance on tax advantaged accounts
- Ability to process foreign and domestic wire transfers
- Ability to redeem savings bonds
- Ability to help order and return foreign currency
- Basic knowledge of cash operations
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Aptitude for meeting people and developing member confidence, respect, and trust in Credit Union
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Self-motivated and dependable
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve and use good judgment
- Active listening and communication skills
- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Completion of the Credit Unions Core Module Program within 12 months of hire date as a condition of employment
- Ability to comprehend and carry out job demands
- Ability to comprehend phone calls
- Ability to lift 10-15 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Certified Credit Union Executive Certification
- Associate of Arts degree or Associate of Science degree via the North Carolina Community College Transfer Program (NC-CTP)
- Minimum of 2 years directly related experience
