Job Summary
Member Service Specialist I handles in-branch, drive-thru, or phone-based financial transactions with accuracy and professionalism. Responsibilities include processing transactions (checking, savings, loans), posting funds, confirming transactions with members, balancing cash drawer, assisting with vault balancing, researching inquiries, processing services (money orders, certified checks, check orders, interim statements, plastic cards, address changes), and ensuring compliance with policies and applicable regulations. Requires adequate product knowledge, ability to back-up other branches, and flexible hours including Saturdays. Emphasis on delivering friendly, confidential, and effective service to members while maintaining high accuracy and quality in a fast-paced banking environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school degree or GED is required
- Cash handling and customer service experience strongly preferred
- Ability to work in lobby, drive-thru, or by telephone
- Demonstrated accuracy in handling transactions and Balancing cash drawer
- Knowledge of or ability to learn bank policies, procedures and regulatory requirements (BSA, Patriot Act, OFAC)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including Saturdays
- Basic mathematical computations and computer literacy
