Job Summary
Deliver excellent customer service to members, guests, and program participants by greeting individuals entering the facility, conducting motivational interviews to determine needs, and selling memberships. Handle membership concerns, resolve unresolved issues, and process financial transactions for enrollments and cancellations while maintaining confidentiality. Control facility access by registering guests and verifying membership cards, and perform data entry for shift reports and balance deposits. Visually inspect the work area for safety risks and report problems in writing. Support the YMCA's Healthy Eating and Physical Activity Standards by encouraging a healthy lifestyle. Complete required CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, and mandatory e-learning courses within specified timelines.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age requirement – 18 years of age
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
- Basic knowledge of computers
- CPR, First Aid, & AED certifications required within 30 days of employment
- Complete YMCA of the USA New Employee Orientation e-learning course
- Complete Creating The Member Experience course within 60 days of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Previous customer service, sales or related experience preferred
