Job Summary
The YMCA seeks a Member Service Representative to act as the front-line ambassador, handling front desk procedures, guiding program registrations, and driving membership sales and retention. Responsibilities include greeting visitors, answering inquiries, assisting with member check-in and records, providing facility information, promoting engagement, supporting sales initiatives (welcome packets, cancellations/holds, converting participants to members), and contributing ideas to improve membership operations. The role requires excellent customer service, strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, ability to work independently or as part of a team, flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, and proficiency with standard office software. CPR/First Aid and AED certification within 90 days is required; bi-lingual English/Spanish is a plus. The position is located in Hollywood, FL, and is part-time with a drug-free workplace requirement and background screening per YMCA policies.
Required Qualifications
- High School degree or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of customer service or sales experience
- Ability to address difficult member situations / conflicts in a professional and courteous manner
- Ability to work independently, and as part of a team
- Multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Organized and detail oriented
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups
- Strong desire to serve others and give back to community
- Professional, goal driven, self-motivated leader with a positive attitude
