Job Summary

Own the low-latency wireless link between operator and robot, optimizing latency, jitter, and reliability across real industrial RF environments. Design and tune transport software using WebRTC to carry control, video, and audio with minimal delay, while architecting site-wide infrastructure including access point placement, backhaul, and VLAN segmentation. Characterize performance in messy RF conditions, ensuring graceful degradation and clean recovery under congestion or coverage gaps. Build diagnostic tools to monitor and debug network performance in both lab and field settings, partnering with teleoperation and infrastructure teams to hit end-to-end latency targets.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience building low-latency, real-time networked systems where latency and reliability are critical
  • Deep understanding of networking across the stack—IP, transport protocols, routing, QoS, and the causes of latency and jitter
  • Solid working knowledge of wireless networking (Wi-Fi and related technologies) and the realities of RF in real environments, even if your primary strength is software
  • Hands-on experience with real-time streaming or transport protocols such as WebRTC, RTP, or custom low-latency transports
  • Strong C/C++ and/or Python skills, with experience implementing and debugging networked software on Linux
  • Strong ability to diagnose network problems across software and wireless boundaries using packet capture, network analysis, and RF tooling
  • Track record of taking networked systems from design through deployment and real-world validation
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs

Desired Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with industrial or point-to-point wireless systems (e.g., URWB), Wi-Fi 6/6E, or managed cellular connectivity
  • Experience designing building-wide or site-wide network infrastructure (coverage planning, structured cabling/backhaul, enterprise AP deployments)
  • Experience with antenna selection, placement, and RF planning for reliable coverage
  • Familiarity with teleoperation, remote driving, or other latency-critical human-in-the-loop systems
  • Experience with network QoS, traffic shaping, and prioritization for mixed real-time traffic
  • Exposure to time synchronization, DDS, or other real-time middleware
