Job Summary
Member Engagement Representative performs member-facing service duties at the Y, including welcoming guests, answering member inquiries, promoting memberships and programs, conducting tours, and processing memberships. Responsibilities include maintaining a clean lobby, handling donations and daily till, providing administrative support to the membership desk (data entry, scholarship subsidies, and account adjustments), and delivering exceptional member service while aligning with YMCA policies and core Values. Must obtain required certifications within specified timelines and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, organization, and the ability to engage diverse community members. Opening shift duties and on-site work, with emphasis on member satisfaction, retention, and community engagement.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 6 months customer service, sales, or related experience
- Certifications within first week: Redwoods Bloodborne Pathogens and Hazardous Communications
- Certifications within first 60 days: CPR, First Aid, AED, Emergency Oxygen
- Proficiency with word processing (45 wpm) and Microsoft Office
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills
- Ability to input memberships and manage accounts in data systems
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment and maintain accuracy
- Commitment to YMCA policies and community service values
