Job Summary
Represent The Trustees membership program at properties, events, and community engagement opportunities throughout Massachusetts. Engage visitors in meaningful conversations about membership, tailoring messaging to individual interests and experiences. Support on-site membership acquisition efforts, assist with enrollment, and accurately process memberships while ensuring data is recorded appropriately. Participate in membership-focused events and outreach activities, maintaining sales materials and signage at assigned properties. Provide valuable feedback from the field regarding visitor trends and observations to help improve engagement strategies and visitor experiences. Collaborate with Membership and property teams to support membership acquisition goals and organizational priorities.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in sales, customer service, visitor engagement, membership programs, fundraising, hospitality, or a related customer-facing role
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage comfortably with diverse audiences
- Confidence and enthusiasm for initiating conversations and promoting membership through in-person interactions
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing needs and environments
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to providing exceptional customer service
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation with the ability to travel regularly throughout Massachusetts
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to support events and visitor engagement activities
- Ability to work outdoors and remain active for extended periods during events and property visits
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Current authorization to work in the United States
- A valid driver's license, as well as a satisfactory driving record as outlined in The Trustees' driving policy
- A satisfactory criminal background (CORI) check
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM systems preferred; ability to learn new systems quickly
- Enthusiasm for The Trustees' mission and a genuine interest in conservation, outdoor recreation, and connecting people to special places
