Job Summary
Member Care Rep II focused on delinquent and negative account resolution for Golden 1 Credit Union. Responsibilities include handling high-volume inbound/outbound calls to negotiate repayment plans, investigating delinquent accounts, performing skip tracing to locate collateral, ensuring compliance with bank secrecy and anti-money laundering laws, researching inquiries from branches and members to resolve delinquency problems, and supporting loss mitigation efforts. Candidates should be able to de-escalate customer situations, identify appropriate financial solutions to improve member wellness, and assist with new-hire training. Requires strong verbal/written communication, knowledge of loan/products within the credit union, and a High School diploma. Remote work allowed for CA residents.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum two years of progressive collection experience in a collection environment including handling repossessions, installment loan collections including VISA and Negative Shares, and initiating real estate foreclosure proceedings, or experience in either the Collection or Loan department at Golden 1
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with skip tracing and locating delinquent borrowers
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to credit union compliance including bank secrecy and anti-money laundering laws
- Ability to de-escalate situations and exercise good judgment
- Proficient with monitoring and applying payments and understanding loan structures
- Ability to train or assist with new hire onboarding
