Job Summary

Update controls, HMI's, OS's, prints, and industrial networks including ControlNet, DeviceNet, EtherNet, and Profibus. Troubleshoot process issues and manage project time work while collaborating with Level 1 and Level 2 Engineers to ensure quality. Continually improve processes and controls across small and large scale projects using RSLogix, Kepware, and other automation software. Maintain VFD setups and configure networking for Schneider Electric, Siemens, and Toshiba systems. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Automation, strong PLC expertise, and willingness to work unscheduled hours. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the metals industry is preferred.

Required Qualifications

  • Excellent safety record and understanding of TCOS
  • Bachelor's Degree: Electrical Engineering/Automation Engineer/Computer Science or similar experience
  • Multitask and manage projects/maintenance outages
  • PLC experience/expertise
  • Willingness to learn and train others
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Visio, AutoCad, etc.)
  • Willingness to work unscheduled hours/days
  • VFD setup, networking, and controls (Schneider Electric, Siemens, Toshiba)
  • Microsoft SQL, Kepware and other Level 1 to Level 2 software

Desired Qualifications

  • Automation experience with the following: RSLogix, RSLinks, Asset Center, Ignition and other types of automation software
  • VFD setup, networking and controls (PowerFlex, Toshiba, SoftStarts)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in metals industry
