Job Summary
Maintain safe and continuous furnace operation by charging at 1400F to melt aluminum, ensuring holding furnaces run at peak capacity through fluxing, rodding, and floor cleaning, and inspecting scrap bins for dryness and debris. Operate a forklift safely while placing ingots on stackers, strapping bundles, and applying recycled aluminum control tags. Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation using computerized systems. Perform daily housekeeping to keep the work area clean and free of debris. Monday to Thursday rotating shifts (Days 7:00am - 5:00pm; Afternoons 5:00pm - 3:00am).
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience
- Valid forklift license
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills
- Detail oriented
- Adaptable to change
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Team player; able to work well with others
- Must be able to drive a forklift
- Must be able to work with molten metal in front of industrial furnaces
- Must be available for Monday to Thursday, 10 hour weekly rotating shifts (Days 7:00am - 5:00pm; Afternoons 5:00pm - 3:00am)
