Job Summary
Melt Operator (6a-2:15p) performs safe, effective completion of daily production requirements in a premier die casting environment. Responsibilities include tapping furnaces as directed, setting up and operating furnaces for melting, loading/unloading materials, cleaning furnaces and equipment, counting/recording units moved on production sheets, taking material samples for laboratory analysis, operating industrial trucks or hoists to move materials, skimming sows and ingots to meet quality standards, stacking/banding/prepping product for shipping, diagnosing and repairing furnaces, maintaining 5S in the work area, and completing required paperwork per QMS, ISO/TS procedures, and safety policies. Qualifications include High School/GED or equivalent, ability to move between machines, knowledge of molds and casting theory, good math and mechanical skills, and strong written and verbal communication. The role requires adherence to safety rules (OSHA/PPE) and a commitment to continuous improvement, with opportunities to contribute to quality and production goals in a hands-on manufacturing setting.
