Job Summary
MEL and Communications Officer needed to support data collection/analysis across the Australia Pacific Leaders Program (APLP), translate findings into concise reports, case studies and communications content. Responsibilities span MEL framework implementation, data governance and quality, synthesis of evidence for reporting, managing activity data and records, contributing to the Program Delivery Hub, preparing MEL inputs for program reporting, and developing communications materials that showcase program outcomes. The role also supports communications strategies, content pipelines, event materials, and safeguarding/ethical considerations. Strong skills in data collection, basic analysis, written reporting, case studies, and Microsoft Office are required, with the ability to work across teams and deliver high-quality outputs for diverse audiences. Open to applicants with full work rights for Australia; located in Canberra or Brisbane with in-person office engagement.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in monitoring, evaluation or program support within development or government-funded programs
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data collection, basic analysis and synthesis
- Proven ability to produce high-quality written materials including reports, summaries and communications content
- Experience developing communications products (case studies, web or social media content)
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Strong interpersonal and coordination skills across teams and stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (SharePoint, Excel, Word) and familiarity with data management or MIS systems
- Understanding of safeguarding, consent and ethical considerations in data collection and communications
