Job Summary
Evaluate dimensional and assembly-related deviations, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions for vehicle body assembly and surface quality. Investigate atypical geometric and fitment conditions during prototype, pre-series, and series production builds to define containment or corrective measures. Collaborate with Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, Product Engineering, and Dimensional Engineering teams to resolve geometry concerns, perform geometrical homologation and matching of in-house and supplier parts, and generate reports in PiWeb. This role supports the Meisterbock and Cubing Specialist function within the Component Center, focusing on precise fit, form, function, and visual appearance from pre-series through end of production. Based in Columbia, South Carolina, with 4-5 days in-office and 5-10% domestic and international travel.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience evaluating part geometry using gages and fixtures
- Knowledgeable with vehicle launch phased processes (Pre-series to Series)
- Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control
- Ability to visualize part in three-dimensional space and explain topics to non-technical team members
- Ability to interpret drawings and GD&T
- Ability to assemble vehicle components with precision to RPS coordinates
- Strong documentation skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- CMM and OMM software proficiency
- Measurement equipment and software maintenance
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong initiative to develop professionally
- Valid driver's license
- Passport preferred but not required upon hire
- 18 years of age or older
