Job Summary
The Meetings & Events Assistant provides administrative and logistical support for planning and executing meetings, conferences, and special events. Responsibilities include coordinating member/non-member meetings, managing registration via Cvent and mobile apps, onsite registration desk operations, hotel room blocks and VIP/staff travel arrangements, coordinating shipments, vendor communications, and supporting signage, signage placement, and off-site dinners. The role requires strong organizational and multitasking abilities, excellent written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment. Preferred experience in event planning/coordination, familiarity with Cvent or similar platforms, proficiency in Microsoft Office, willingness to travel, and CMP or CMP-like qualifications are noted. The position involves collaboration with Sr. Director/Manager of Meetings and Events and may include pre-show and onsite support for PACK EXPO projects, staff events, and coordination of meetings and related logistics.
Required Qualifications
- 2-year college degree or equivalent (CMP), preferred
- 1-2 years of professional experience in meetings / events
- Strong work ethic and collaborative attitude
- Self-starter, able to work independently
- Able to balance several projects at once and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Solid organizational skills
- Must possess excellent computer skills including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite
- Some knowledge and comfort level with an Association Management System or events registration software. (Cvent preferred)
- Must be available to travel
