Job Summary
Manage acute walk-in urgent cases and minor procedures including suturing, fracture care, incision and drainage, EKG interpretation, and wet reading X-rays. Utilize on-site low-complexity lab for point of care testing and access full x-ray suites with supportive staff. Work 12-hour daily shifts with variable lengths in the South Region across Waldorf, La Plata, Charlotte Hall, and California locations. Advance Practice Providers operate autonomously with supportive physician mentorship. Access pediatric, emergency medicine, and cardiologist teleconsultants within the MedStar Health System.
Required Qualifications
- Experienced emergency, family, urgent care providers
- Experienced emergency medicine, urgent care, or family medicine physicians, physician assistants/nurse practitioners
- Advanced Practice Providers work autonomously with supportive physician mentorship
- Manage acute walk-in urgent cases
- Minor procedures
- Suturing
- Fracture care/splinting
- I&Ds
- Interpreting EKGs
- Wet reading X-rays
- On-site, low-complexity lab for point of care testing
- Full x-ray suite
- Open 12 hours daily
