Perform 3D imaging and peri-procedural echocardiography during rotations in the cardiac cath lab, guiding interventions such as left atrial appendage closure, transcutaneous valvular implantation, transcatheter edge-to-edge repair, and percutaneous paravalvular leak closure. Participate in attending-led case discussions, journal clubs, and echo conferences to develop expertise in structural and valvular heart disease treatments. Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited cardiology fellowship
- Achievement of level II training in echocardiography
- Ability to satisfy the requirements of level III training through performance and interpretation of transesophageal, transthoracic, and stress echocardiography
- Skill in 3D imaging and peri-procedural echocardiography
- Expertise in imaging a wide variety of cardiovascular diseases, including cardiomyopathies, heart failure requiring advanced therapies (LVAD and other LV support devices), cardiac transplantation, congenital heart disease, complex cardiothoracic surgical cases, and valvular heart disease
- Exposure to intra-procedural echocardiography as they rotate through the cardiac cath lab and work with the structural imaging team
- Ability to perform echocardiography guided interventions including left atrial appendage closure, transcutaneous valvular implantation on any of the four valves (in native, valve-in-valve, mitral annulus calcification), transcatheter edge-to-edge repair of mitral or tricuspid valves (including laceration of the anterior mitral leaflet to prevent outflow obstruction (LAMPOON)), percutaneous paravalvular leak closure, and mitral valve balloon valvuloplasty
